Now that the heat is starting to hit our country, what better way to refresh and hydrate than by drinking iced tea, which is a natural, calorie-free drink with many beneficial properties.
Iced tea is a traditional drink in the USA, mainly in the southern states where it began to be consumed, almost by accident.
During the World's Fair held in St. Louis, Missouri, in the summer of 1904, a tea merchant from India offered his product to anyone who passed by, who immediately rejected it because it was a hot drink. In desperation, the man put ice in a jug of hot tea. Soon long lines formed to try the refreshing drink.

To prepare it, follow these simple instructions:
Prepare your infusion with the same amount of tea or herbal tea that you use for a cup of hot tea, add ½ cup of hot water (4 oz), let it sit for the time indicated for each case (Green tea 3 min., Black tea 5 minutes, White tea 4 minutes) strain into a glass filled with ice.
If you want to prepare a 2 lt jug, what you will do is 1 lt of iced tea (with 8-10 teaspoons of tea, or what is the same 20 gr) and you will empty it into a jug with 1 lt of ice (you can measure it with a cream or yogurt container).
If you are going to sweeten it, it is advisable to do so when the infusion is hot (before pouring it onto the ice) or to use natural or flavored syrup.
If you have time, you can let it cool once strained and add ice before serving (in this case the ice lasts longer).
But you can also infuse it in cold water, you will just have to wait longer for the infusion to take place. The advantage is that with this method no green tea will turn bitter (something that can happen if you do not strain it in the precise time or if you use very hot water).
If you just want a glass of iced tea, I recommend using our tea glass or the OM glass. Just add twice as much tea and water at room temperature, let it sit for 30 minutes or more and add ice when you are ready to drink it.
If you are making a larger quantity, put the tea in a jug or large container (remember 20 gr per lt), add water at room temperature, cover and let it sit without stirring for 1 to 9 hours (in fact, it works very well if you leave it overnight), strain (without crushing or squeezing the leaves, because if you do, you will release substances that make the tea bitter), sweeten and add ice (one part tea concentrate to one part ice).
Make it more fun and energetic by adding chopped fruit. I recommend looking for fun flavor combinations, another idea is to add a fruit snowball.

I recommend you try:
