Starting this month I will start writing about a very interesting topic closely related to Tea, the “Art of Tea”. Whether it is talking about objects that have been created for the enjoyment of Tea such as teapots, bowls, chawan, cutlery, etc., or about other arts that have taken Tea as a source of inspiration: painting, poetry, music, calligraphy.
This topic came up when I met Remi, a great young painter who came into my life like many other valuable people have done: through Tea. With a striking humility, Remi signed up for my courses to learn more about Tea, and it was there that when I asked him what he studied, he simply said “art.”
I immediately realized that we shared a passion and joy for this ancient drink and I began to share many cups of tea and interesting conversations with him. As Debbie Coney said so well: “The perfect companion for tea is a friend.”
I was delighted to know that, like me, he is a great admirer of oriental culture and that little by little I was discovering his great art. We had the opportunity to invite him to be part of the EURO TE team at the last edition of Expo Café, painting live there at the stand and raffling off one of his works every day, which impacted everyone who saw them.
I am now proud to be able to offer these unique works in our Online Store and I am very happy to share them with all those who admire true art and love Tea, like many of you, my readers.
