The Lunar New Year (or Chinese New Year) begins on February 1st, and this time it is the Water Tiger's turn to take center stage.
This year promises to be one full of surprises and danger (as is the nature of the animal) so be cautious and pay attention, making well thought out decisions will be the best for all 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, although some animals should pay more attention.
Unlike the year that just ended (Metal Buffalo) in which everything revolved around hard work and pragmatism, (think about it, the world was governed by many restrictions, prohibitions and orders, which nobody enjoyed, but most of us listened to because it was necessary.)
This year of the tiger, the energies are completely different. The tiger is an animal of great courage, strength and ability to “do nothing” but enjoy. However, it is quick when it is necessary to “move”. On the other hand, the water element promotes sensitivity, creativity and openness to change. Water is an undeniable natural force that even puts out fire and avoids obstacles by turning them around.
So expect a year of sudden changes, not without some drama (both at work and at home) but it can be a year of unexpected news and dreams coming true.
2020 (the year of the rat) was a year of survival and the buffalo (2021) was a year of anchoring ourselves and accepting the new reality. This 2022 will be the year of great changes, of taking risks and of adventures.
The Tiger is associated with masculine or Yang energy, so Tigers have their own way of doing things and hate being told how to do things. That's why there are great opportunities for success if you are one who responds quickly to change. Follow your intuition and make your wildest dreams come true, but keep your ego in check, this can be your downfall.
What rituals to do this New Year?
- Use the colors associated with the tiger: yellow and red
- Celebrate the arrival of the year with a banquet, this will ensure that there is prosperity in the year. Especially serve animal proteins and tangerines that bring good luck.
- If you want to increase your luck even more, the Chinese recommend making a “wealth jar.” Put the loose change you bring into a ceramic container and place it at the entrance of your house. Every time you enter, put the coins you bring in there and it will be a very prosperous year.
- At midnight on February 1st, open all the doors and windows in your house to let the Tiger energy into your home. Before midnight, tidy up and clean your house because depending on how you welcome the year, it will be your whole year!
- The Chinese do not lend money on New Year's Day (in this case, February 1st) because if they do, they believe they will lose money for the whole year.
- They also don't use knives or scissors that day because "good luck is cut off."
- Drink the tea of your sign, you can find it here…( Chinese Zodiac Tea Pet Set with Tin ) and even better if you can, do it in “Gong Fu Cha” with a Tiger Tea Pet and help the good energy to enter the house.
Or failing that, with the Tea Pet of your sign (or with both!!)
