The Chinese New Year will begin on January 22 and will last until February 9, 2024 (when we will enter the year of the Wood Dragon, my sign and element!!)
This year's element will be water (there are 5 elements in Chinese astrology, and to be fair in all their thinking: metal, earth, water, fire, wood.)
Water suggests sensitivity and flexibility, and this year will be all about flow. The rabbit also symbolizes patience and luck, and is considered a fast, agile and very fertile animal. It is the personification of the Yin principle (wood). This is a peaceful sign, which diligently avoids any conflict and difficulty. The influence of the elements of 2023 makes it kinder and more delicate. The harmonious union of Water and Wood promises stability and prosperity during the reign of the Water Rabbit. Wood opens up new perspectives, gives a sense of confidence, and Water energizes and flows. Therefore, we can count on 2023 being less dramatic or tumultuous than the year just ended (of the Tiger).
The Year of the Rabbit is expected to be a positive and fortunate time for most zodiac signs. We can expect success in love and advancement in our careers, and there should be no major health problems. The dynamic of the year will be about regaining inner balance and healing wounds; it is an introspective year that will help us find the most appropriate answers to our personal search for evolution. Everything seems to indicate that 2023 will be a year of peace and success.
On the other hand, according to numerology, the number of the year is 7, which means wisdom, refinement, a tendency towards knowledge.
How to celebrate the 2023 year of the Water Rabbit?
The Rabbit is a family creature, arrange a meeting with your family in an atmosphere of love and understanding.
You can make a poster with family photos and laugh together at all those funny images, or remember what that trip was like or that person who is no longer in this world.
There are bunny masks that you can give to your family and have a good time, dance, play, and drink lots of tea! Maybe you'll be inspired to make a Tea Cocktail (find recipes in our new calendar/recipe book here: Euro Tea 2023 Recipe Book )
Make a dinner with dishes that have the water element very present (nothing too heavy), rather vegetables like eggplant, legumes, figs, plums, blackberries. Maybe some fish and seafood. With dessert (which can be fruit) have a delicious and cute bunny-shaped Tea Bomb .
And finally, how about offering your family a delicious tea made in the Gong Fu Cha way, place a rabbit Tea Pet and your Chinese zodiac sign in your Cha Pan and share with everyone the peace that this beautiful ceremony generates.
Oh! And remember at midnight before (January 21st) to open all the doors and windows of the house to let the energy of the Rabbit into your home. Before midnight, tidy and clean the house because depending on how you welcome the year, it will be your whole year!
Happy and peaceful Year of the Water Rabbit to everyone!
