Fruity herbal teas

Our country has a very ancient herbal tradition. Since pre-Columbian times, Mesoamerican civilizations have made remedies with plants, whether with their leaves, fruits, roots, seeds or bark.

Many of these remedies are spread, eaten or taken by making an infusion or a light cooking of the parts of the plants mentioned, that is, herbal teas have been made with them, since according to the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, herbal tea is defined as: “Medicinal drink that results from the light cooking of one or more herbs and other ingredients in water.”

However, 22 years ago, EURO TE introduced a different type of herbal tea in our country, those made mainly with dehydrated fruit, and sometimes also crystallized, as well as leaves, flowers and other parts of the plant.

This type of preparation originated in Europe, previously dried fruit was prepared to be eaten and was rarely mixed with anything else other than fruit. Around the seventies, multiple mixtures were developed that generally integrate the flower of the hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa), originally from tropical Africa (Sudan, Senegal, etc.), to give a certain flavor, acidity and color to these infusions, in addition to making them exotic to their eyes and palate. In our country we have consumed water from the hibiscus flower for many years, which we prepare in the form of Tisane and drink it cold like fresh water, but for them this flower is something very exotic.

And although their purpose is not strictly medicinal, it is undeniable that infusions of these preparations have an effect on our body as they provide vitamins, minerals, are diuretic and slightly laxative. In addition, they do not contain any type of nervous stimulant (caffeine).

Many of EURO TE's fruit herbal teas have been created specifically for the national market and are sold by us alone. We have the great advantage of having a commercial partner with 100 years of experience, who works under the strictest standards of quality and hygiene (according to European standards), who buys the raw material in the countries that produce the best quality (for example, apples from Turkey, hibiscus from Sudan, chamomile from Egypt) and mixes it according to our recipe with the help of computer-controlled machinery, which results in the same mixture, the same proportion of ingredients and therefore the same flavour.

Go ahead and try them hot or cold and give your body a natural food without preservatives, artificial coloring or flavoring, and remember that fruit (flowers and vegetables) can, or almost should, be eaten (already hydrated) to provide the body with the vitamins and minerals present in them.
