Blue Matcha?

We have one of our new products called that, but how can it be Blue Matcha ? If to be Matcha it must come from the tea plant Camellia Sinensis which is green!

Well, actually this fine blue powder IS NOT MATCHA, but that is how it is called all over the world, that is why we decided to call it that, although we know that in reality it is not Matcha, but only similar to Matcha in its form and uses.

This powder is obtained from the " Blue Butterfly Pea Flower " whose scientific name is Clitoria Ternatea , it is native to Thailand and has very different properties from those of Matcha, let's see what they are:

  • DOES NOT CONTAIN CAFFEINE (or any nervous stimulant).
  • ITS COLOR COMES FROM ANTHOCYANINS (which are flavonoids, antioxidants) with properties to improve vision, and it is believed that they help prevent type 2 diabetes.
  • ITS ANTIOXIDANTS HELP THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
  • IT HAS ANALGESIC PROPERTIES.
  • INCREASE COLLAGEN PRODUCTION, which helps improve skin elasticity.

Its flavor is similar to that of a broad bean or edamame, so it does not radically change the flavor of any food to which you add it .

Try it in smoothies, shakes, lattes, or add it to your desserts or food to give them a beautiful blue color.

To help you start enjoying it, I present the following recipe :

INGREDIENTS

1 pack Maria cookies.

90 gr. (1 stick) unsalted butter .

2 tbsp . Sugar

1 pc. Cream Cheese .

1 pc. Milk can .

¾ cup lemon juice.

1 tsp . Blue Matcha from EURO TE®.

PROCEDURE

Grind the cookies in a blender or food processor, add the sugar and mix well. Melt the butter.

Place the biscuit in the pie pan, add the butter and stir well to form a dough, arrange it on the bottom of the pan (and the sides if you want). Bake at medium heat (180 ° C) for 10 minutes. Let it cool.

Leave the cheese out of the refrigerator overnight.

Put all ingredients in a blender (add the sifted blue powder at the end) and blend until combined.

Pour the mixture into the cookie base and smooth out the surface. Refrigerate or freeze as desired.
