What is Golden Milk?
Some time ago, the famous “Golden Milk” began to be heard and requested in Mexico, but many people do not know what it is or what it is used for. At EURO TE we have just introduced it to our product catalogue, so we are very interested in you knowing about it:
It is a mixture of ground turmeric and spices that has long been made and taken in India, as it is part of their Ayurvedic medicine* and preferred by yogis mainly for its joint benefits.
Turmeric is a root similar to ginger but with a more orange color. It contains different active ingredients such as “curcumin”, which has antioxidant, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it is used to treat joint disorders such as osteoarthritis, arthritis, bursitis, etc.

At the Ayurvedic level, turmeric is considered to balance the 3 Doshas** (Vata, Pitta and Kapha).
EURO TE Golden Milk contains: Turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves and black pepper, the latter containing an alkaloid, piperine , necessary for the correct absorption of curcumin.
We can list their properties according to the system they help in:

It is not recommended for pregnant women, people with severe jaundice, hepatitis or gallstones.
Ayurveda considers milk fat to be a very good vehicle to carry the properties of substances to deep tissues, milk and turmeric combine ideally to obtain maximum benefits. But because it is not easy to find quality animal milk nowadays, or if you follow a vegan diet, it is preferable to make the drink with vegetable milk that contains some fat such as coconut or almond or even add a splash of some vegetable oil (sesame, peanut, coconut, grape seed, etc.)
The fall and winter seasons are the ideal times to drink this warm beverage, which helps to reduce the cold, dry and light qualities of autumn, while keeping the accumulation of the Kapha Dosha balanced in winter.
It is a drink suitable for any time of day, but especially effective at night before going to bed as it is relaxing and promotes restful sleep.

*Ayurvedic Medicine is a complete system of traditional medicine that views health as more than the absence of disease.
It offers a series of ways to balance Doshas and find well-being. The key is to find balance with a holistic approach: directing the mind, body and spirit.
**The “Doshas” or humors are basic forces that interact and are present in the body of all people. Vata is the expression of the force of movement, Pitta that of transformation and Kapha that of stability and structure.
